MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MoTCIT) has launched a campaign titled “Digital Transformation: A New Reality,” aimed at advancing digital transformation across Oman. Part of the Government Digital Transformation Programme ‘Tahawul,’ the campaign highlights the digital services provided by government entities, emphasising their benefits and role in improving the quality of life. Several government bodies are actively participating in this effort.

Running for a month and a half, the campaign seeks to deepen public understanding of digital transformation and build trust by showcasing notable successes. By demonstrating the convenience and efficiency of digital solutions, it encourages the adoption of these services as the primary method for accessing government services, ultimately enhancing user satisfaction.

The initiative also highlights the transformative impact of digital platforms, including streamlining government service procedures, improving efficiency and boosting productivity. It further emphasises the benefits for businesses, such as increased agility, better planning and financial savings from reduced reliance on paper and traditional processes. Additionally, the campaign underscores the convenience of remote transactions, saving time and effort by eliminating the need for physical visits.

Aligned with the objectives of ‘Tahawul’ and Oman Vision 2040, the campaign will be marketed through various social media channels, as well as traditional and modern media outlets and billboards. The Government Digital Transformation Programme, launched in 2021, is part of the National Digital Economy Programme, which aims to increase the digital economy’s contribution from 2% currently to 5% by 2030 and 10% by 2040 under Oman Vision 2040 goals.

Focusing on empowering national capabilities and building an efficient digital infrastructure, the programme currently targets 40 entities.
