Come December 23, the nights of Muscat will be all brightened up and colourful offering a complete family extravaganza in terms of fun and frolic as a plethora of activities catering to one and all is is being flown in from across the world.
Besides offering a venue for over 700 small and medium enterprises and productive families which is all set to participate in the festival, the one-month-long festival is all geared up for catering to people from all walks of life as the activities include numerous entertainment and tourism events spread across various locations, including Al Qurum Natural Park, Al Amerat Public Park, Al Naseem Public Park, Oman Automobile Association, Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), Al Hail Beach, Wadi Al Khoudh, as well as several cultural centres and shopping malls. The festival will be on until January 21, 2025.
In order to make the festival hassle-free and enjoyable to people from all walks of life, the Muscat Municipality has appointed more than 500 people who speak different languages at various festival venues to help manage the largest event of its kind in the capital.
Speaking to the Observer, a media spokesperson from the Muscat Municipality, the organisers of the event, said that these locations have been chosen to ensure accessibility for residents and visitors across different areas of the capital.
"We are giving the final touches to the one month long family festival called Muscat Nights 2024. More than 700 Small and Medium Enterprises, along with highly creative families, are participating in the festival to present their products and services to attendees. This provides not only an opportunity for these companies to showcase their offerings to the nearly one million anticipated visitors but also makes a complete family festival," he said.
Major venues and activities include Flower Festival, Food Festival, Global Village, Drone Shows, Laser and Light Shows, Al Qurum Carnival, Equestrian Championships and Theatrical Performances at Qurum Natural Park.
At Al Amerat Public Park, there will be Hybrid Show, Heritage Village, Amusement Rides, Air and Acrobatics Games, Theatrical Performances, Consumer Exhibition, Al Amerat Carnival and Children's Carnival.
Other locations are Al Naseem Public Park, Oman Automobile Association, Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, Sur Al Hadeed Beach, Cultural Centres and Malls among others.
The Muscat Nights Festival 2024 promises to delight residents and visitors over its 30-day run. It also plays a pivotal role in enhancing Oman’s position as a top winter tourism destination in the region while providing local SMEs abundant opportunities to benefit from the influx of thousands of daily visitors.
