

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education, through its Innovation and Scientific Olympiad Department, in collaboration with Oman India Fertiliser Company (OMIFCO), celebrated the conclusion of the National Olympiad of Student Scientific Innovation, Robotics Competitions, and Artificial Intelligence for the academic year 2024–2025.
The event, held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, was held under the auspices of Dr Mansour bin Taleb al Hinai, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Authority, and attended by Dr Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, along with senior officials from OMIFCO and the Ministry of Education, as well as students.
In his speech, Hilal al Khazairi, Assistant Director of the Innovation and Scientific Olympiad Department, emphasised the ministry's commitment to fostering a creative and innovative environment for students. "We are dedicated to supporting students in developing their ideas into tangible achievements that contribute to building a brighter future," he said. "Through organising these competitions, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting innovative solutions and supporting young minds in driving digital transformation and technological progress."
Student Ohood Al Shaqsi, from Aisha Al Riyamiah Basic Education School in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate. "The Olympiad is a field of challenge, where young talents come together to prove that achievement starts with an idea and is completed with determination. Many new ideas were born, and stories of achievement were shared. We are thankful to the Ministry of Education for giving us the opportunity to take our first steps toward a bright future."
The ceremony also featured an exhibition showcasing student projects in scientific innovations, robotics, artificial intelligence, and drones. The jury evaluated the students' works and announced the results of the competitions, highlighting outstanding students and their contributions. The event aimed to enhance future skills, promote student excellence in these cutting-edge fields, and honour the teachers and supervisors who supported them. — ONA
