HM leaves Belgium

Brussels: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Wednesday left the Kingdom of Belgium after a three-day state visit.


His Majesty was seen off at Brussels Military Airport by Vice Admiral Jan De Beurme, Representative of the King in the Kingdom of Belgium, Tinne Van der Straeten, Minister of Energy, some Belgian officials and members of the Omani embassy in Belgium.


Upon his departure, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik sent a cable of thanks to King Philippe Leopold Louis Marie, King of the Belgians and his spouse Queen Mathilde Marie Christine Ghislaine, Queen of the Belgians.



In the cable, His Majesty expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality.


His Majesty lauded the outcomes of his meeting with the King, as it was an opportunity to discuss the friendship relations between the two countries and means of boosting them in various spheres to serve interests of the Omani and Belgian peoples.


His Majesty the Sultan wished the King and the Queen good health, well-being and success to achieve further aspirations of progress and prosperity for the Belgian people.



During the visit, His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied by a high-ranking official delegation that comprised HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Nuamani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, Dr Hamad bin Said al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdussalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Eng Salim bin Nassir al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals and Rua bint Issa al Zadjali, Ambassador of Oman to Belgium.
