The race is a prominent sporting event in the region, attracting wide participation from various parts of the world, with over one thousand runners representing 65 countries. More than 40 percent of the participants come from outside the Sultanate of Oman, reflecting the growing international significance of this exceptional event.

Spanning three challenging routes of 110 km, 55 km, and 20 km, designed to challenge runners and showcase their physical and mental abilities in rugged mountainous terrain. The races will cover four willayats in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah: Nizwa, Izki, Al Hamra, and Jabal Akhdar, with runners passing through stunning landscapes and diverse terrains that combine mountains, valleys, and lush farms, offering a unique experience.

To engage the broader community, the event will feature a series of fun and kids runs on December 6 and 7, 2024.

These races, ranging from one to ten kilometers, aim to promote a culture of health and fitness among all age groups, including school students. An accompanying five-day exhibition will also highlight small and medium enterprises that are integral to the event's sports and tourism theme, further fostering local economic growth and community engagement.
