Omani embassies abroad mark National Day

The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Netherlands celebrated the 54th Glorious National Day on Wednesday, in the presence of Shaikh Dr Abdullah bin Salim al Harthy, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The ambassador delivered a welcoming speech, during which he reviewed the pillars of Omani foreign policy, based on the principles of peace, dialogue and tolerance. He also highlighted the development of bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of the Netherlands in various fields, noting the rapid growth of these relations.

The ceremony featured Omani national musical performances that reflected the spirit of celebration and showcased the rich Omani culture and heritage.


Also, the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Italy held a celebration on Wednesday to mark the 54th National Day in the presence of HH Sayyid Nizar bin Al Julanda al Said, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Republic of Italy.


The event was attended by a group of Italian politicians and parliamentarians as well as ambassadors of sisterly and friendly countries, members of the diplomatic and military corps and a crowd of intellectuals, academics and public figures in Italy.


The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Tokyo also held a reception on Wednesday to mark the 54th National Day in the presence of Dr Mohammed bin Said al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Japan. The event was attended by Miyagi Takuma, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Japan.

Also attendants at the event were ambassadors of Arab and foreign countries, former Japanese ambassadors to the Sultanate of Oman, directors of the Middle East departments of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, leaders of the Maritime, Air and Land Self-Defence Forces and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Japanese companies executives and businessmen, journalists, academics and Omani students at Japanese universities.


In Jakarta, the Omani Embassy held a reception on the occasion of the 54th National Day in the presence of Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed al Shanfari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Indonesia.

The event was attended by Meutya Hafid, Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs, on behalf of the Indonesian government and former vice-president of the Republic of Indonesia.


Also attendants at the event were senior officials, members of the Indonesian Parliament and House of Representatives, heads of Arab and foreign missions to Indonesia and a number of officials from the public and private sectors.


The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Dhaka also held a reception on the occasion of the 54th National Day in the presence of Abdulghaffar bin Abdulkarim al Balushi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

The event was attended by Dr Asif Nazrul, Adviser of Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and officials from the Asia Department and Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.


It was attended also by a number of ambassadors of Arab and foreign countries, heads and representatives of international organisations and a number of diplomats, businessmen, government and military officials, journalists, scholars, religious figures and academics.


In Kuwait, the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman marked the 54th National Day in a ceremony attended by Dr Saleh bin Amer al Kharousi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Kuwait.

The ceremony was attended by Shaikh Fahad Al Youssef al Sabah, Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Minister of Interior, members of the ruling family, senior officials in the Kuwaiti government, ministers, advisers at the Amiri Diwan and diplomats.


The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Cairo also held a celebration on Wednesday to mark the 54th National Day in the presence of Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States.


The ceremony was attended by a number of ministers, military commanders, senior officials, intellectuals, writers, academics, Egyptian artists and Omani citizens. — ONA
