MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education (MoE), through its Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiad, organised a four-day training camp for students who qualified for the fourth session of the Arab Mathematics Olympiad.

The camp aimed to prepare the students for the upcoming competition, which will take place in Qatar from November 10-14, under the auspices of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).

During the training, participants honed their skills in key mathematical areas, including algebra, number theory, geometry, and combinatorics. The sessions focused on equipping the students with the techniques needed to tackle challenging Olympiad problems, boosting their confidence and problem-solving abilities.

The Arab Mathematics Olympiad is a periodic competition that brings together students from ALECSO member countries. It serves as a platform to foster scientific competition, enrich curricula, and enhance education through mathematical excellence. The event aims to discover and nurture young talent, encouraging creativity in mathematics and fostering an environment of self-confidence and academic growth.

The Olympiad consists of a four-and-a-half-hour test, with the first half-hour dedicated to answering students' written inquiries. Participants face four challenging questions, with the opportunity to earn gold, silver, or bronze medals based on their performance.
