Muscat: Two citizens died following an accident involving trailer and tanker trucks, which led to the leak of Triethylene Glycol (TEG) in the Wilayat of Adam in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah.

"The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority’s rescue teams specialized in dealing with hazardous materials incidents responded to an accident involving two trucks and were able to contain the leak of the substance. The accident resulted in the death of two citizens," the official statement said.

TEG is used as a dehydrating agent for natural gas processing; as a lubricating and finishing agent for textiles; as a constituent in brake fluids, lubricants, antifreeze formulations, wallpaper strippers, and artificial fog solutions; a solvent for printing inks and dyes.
