Muscat: The Royal Cavalry achieved advanced results in French horse races at the Toulouse track. The horse Al Jareef claimed second place in the first round, Al Wathba round, which was allocated for Purebred Arabian Horse over a distance of 2,000 metres.


Meanwhile, Al Safanat, owned by the Royal Cavalry, secured third place in the fourth round, Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak Cup round, allocated for Purebred Arabian Horse over a distance of 1,500 metres. Both achievements were led by jockey Michael Forrest and supervised by Elizabeth Bernard.

On the other hand, Sayyid Munthir bin Saif bin Hamad al Busaidy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation (OERF), received Faisal al Rahmani, President of the International Federation of Purebred Arabian Horse Racing.


During the meeting, they discussed various matters related to horse racing in the GCC countries and internationally. Faisal al Rahmani indicated that “this visit comes as a continuation of previous mutual visits with the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation, which aim to strengthen fraternal relations between Oman and the GCC body to support equestrian sports in an effort to reach the global level.”

“There is a trend to support Arabian horse racing in the Sultanate of Oman and to provide the ideal environment for racing to serve its rapid development, alongside the support provided by the Oman government,” he added.


Al Rahmani further mentioned that they discussed the possibility of hosting one of the Purebred Arabian Horse races in Oman. "We discussed the possibility of one of the events we supervise being staged in Oman, along with the accompanying events getting good media and public attention."

The Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation recently announced its calendar of events, activities and competitions for the 2024-2025 season, with 86 competitions distributed across eight events, including Olympic, international, and local events.
