MUSCAT: The Tax Authority, represented by the Second General Directorate of Taxes, organized an introductory workshop on withholding tax, targeting officials in various ministries and government agencies.
The workshop aimed to raise the percentage of commitment of government agencies in applying the provisions of withholding tax. The workshop received a wide participation of more than 100 participants, which reflects the keenness of government agencies to adhere to the provisions of the tax and apply them accurately.
During the workshop, Iman Abdulrhman al Hindasi, Tax Inspector, reviewed the withholding tax laws and how to apply them, focusing on the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors to overcome the challenges facing to implement the taxes.
Specialists stressed the importance of complying with tax regulations, noting that holding such workshops represents a crucial step to enable taxpayers to fully understand their tax rights and duties, raise their tax awareness, and build bridges of trust with the tax administration.
