Muscat: As part of the efforts to regulate the investment sector and reduce fake license applications, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) has initiated some measures.

It will stop issuing foreign investment license applications to expatriates who hold 'semi-skilled' professions as classified by the Ministry of Labor in the private sector.

It will allow skilled professionals working in companies to request a license with the approval of the company owner and proof of the applicant’s financial solvency.

The ministry said that the measures are aimed at enhancing economic activity and improving the investment climate and business environment in the Sultanate of Oman.
