

Manama: The Sultanate of Oman participates in the 54th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers held in Manama, on Wednesday. The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was headed by Dr Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Ministry of Information.
The Council discussed several topics including media support for the Palestinian cause, the use of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence in the Arab media, the recommendations of the Arab Committee for E-Media, the implementation of the interim plan for the joint Arab media strategy to combat terrorism, the completion of the negotiation file with international media companies, the dissemination of environmental media culture and strengthening the role of Arab women in the media field.
The Council commended the efforts made by the Arab media outlets in covering the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and in the Palestinian territories, and their documentation of the crimes committed by the occupation forces against the defenseless Palestinian civilians including media and medical teams.
The Council approved a number of topics including the recommendations issued by the fifth meeting of the expert group concerned with evaluating and updating the Arab media action plan.
The Council also approved the implementation of a documentary entitled The Arab League’s Journey and Destiny which was circulated to the Arab League’s centres and missions abroad and uploaded to the Arab League’s websites and social media platforms, and the naming of the 100th regular session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media as the Martyrs of Gaza and the Palestinian Media Term. — ONA
