SALALAH: The fourth edition of the Salalah International Cycling Tour wrapped up on Wednesday in Dhofar Governorate, as part of the Dhofar Khareef Festival. Organised by Dhofar Municipality in collaboration with the Oman Cycling Federation and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the event saw participation from 90 cyclists across 15 national and international teams.
Algerian cyclist Yassin Hamza from the Madar team claimed victory in the final stage, covering 133 kilometres from Al Mughsail to Darbat Falls.
In the overall standings, Brazilian cyclist Nicolas Cesar from the Victoria team took first place and donned the golden jersey. Dutch cyclist Quentin Fling won the green jersey for the general classification by time, while Moroccan cyclist Ibrahim Al Sabahi from the Qatar Pro team claimed the white jersey for riders under 23. Mongolian cyclist Benjarar of the Mongolia national team was awarded the grey jersey as the fiercest competitor.
The race concluded with a ceremony led by Dr Ahmed bin Mohsen Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, who presented the awards to the winners.
The Salalah Cycling Tour featured four stages:
Stage 1: Wilayat of Sadah to Mirbat Fort (131 km)
Stage 2: Al Dahariz Beach to Wadi Darbat (120 km)
Stage 3: Al Hafa Market to Itin Park (119 km)
Stage 4: Al Mughsail to Darbat Falls (133 km)
