The Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) has refuted social media reports on the gradual increase in electricity and water tariffs in 2024 and the complete lifting of the support in 2025.

The Authority said that what is being circulated is not true, and that the electricity tariff previously announced through approved official channels is fixed for the 2024 and has not changed, and there is no plan to 'completely lift' support in 2025.

It emphasized the importance of obtaining news and information from official sources.

Meanwhile, the Public Services and Utilities Committee hosted Eng. Ahmed al Subhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nama Holding Group and the Group's CEOs and issues related to the management and organization of the electricity sector, and the current electricity tariff, services provided in customer service centers and delay in connecting electricity service in some residential plans.

The meetings also touched on the increase in bills and the mechanism of calculation, disconnection and restoration of electricity, installments in paying the amounts due from the consumer, plans to replace old wooden poles with new ones and the importance of replacing manual meters with self-reading smart meters.
