Al Rusayl Industrial City boosts investment portfolio to RO 766 million

MUSCAT: Al Rusayl Industrial City, under the management of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), has successfully attracted eight new projects during the first half of 2024, with a combined investment value of approximately RO 8 million. This brings the total number of investment contracts in the city to 488, further solidifying its role as a key player in Oman’s industrial landscape. The total investments in Al Rusayl Industrial City now exceed RO 766 million, employing 19,854 workers with an Omanisation rate surpassing 33 per cent.


Eng Mohsen bin Zahran al Hinai, CEO of Al Rusayl Industrial City, emphasised the city's historical significance, noting that it has been a cornerstone of Oman's industrial development since its establishment in 1983. Over the years, the city has expanded from an initial area of 3.5 million square metres to a vast 10.5 million square metres, with 6.8 million square metres already developed and nearly 95 per cent occupied.

Al Hinai highlighted that recent infrastructure enhancements, totaling around RO 37.8 million, have been pivotal in advancing the city's capabilities. These developments include the expansion of the logistics area by 500,000 square metres and the second phase of industrial development spanning 2.4 million square meters. These efforts are set to bolster the city’s logistics and industrial sectors, driving economic growth.


Further improvements include the modernization of road networks, significantly reducing traffic accidents and easing congestion, thus creating a safer environment for both workers and visitors. The city has also upgraded its communication networks, introducing a state-of-the-art fiber optic system, which enhances connectivity and supports the city's growing technological infrastructure.


Madayn is also exploring sustainable initiatives, including the purification and reuse of treated water for industrial purposes and the integration of advanced monitoring technologies to enhance operational efficiency and environmental safety. Additionally, beautification projects at the city's main entrance are underway, reflecting Madayn’s commitment to sustainable development and service excellence, positioning Al Rusayl Industrial City as a leading industrial hub in the region.
