Muscat: The second edition of the Dhofar Annual Forum held under the theme "Economic Development Prospects: A Phase of Integration and Partnership," was inaugurated at the Millennium Salalah Hotel.
His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, opened the event, which brought together ministers, dignitaries, and business leaders.
The forum aligns with national efforts to elevate Dhofar’s status as a prime investment destination, leveraging its unique environment and climate to contribute to Oman Vision 2040. The discussions focused on the importance of economic integration and multi-sector partnerships, underlining the need to enhance Dhofar’s competitive edge.
Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, outlined developmental projects and strategies currently underway in the governorate.
The forum featured a series of keynote speeches, working papers, and visual presentations.
A panel discussion on "The Importance of Partnership and Integration in Supporting Economic Development in Dhofar Governorate" examined the role of various sectors in enhancing the governorate’s competitiveness.
Prominent figures who participated in the discussions included Said al Mandhari, CEO of Ithca Group; Dr. Hilal al Dhamri, CEO of Raysut Cement Company; Sheikh Khalil al-Harthi, CEO of Credit Oman.
The forum also saw the participation of speakers such as Ghazi bin Said Al-Humr, Director of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Dhofar Governorate Branch, and Engineer Sumo bint Amer Tabouk, Founder and CEO of Sumo Design.
