SALALAH: The 12th Omani Song Festival, a celebration of the nation’s rich musical heritage, concluded on Wednesday. Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth in partnership with the Office of the Governor of Dhofar, the festival commenced on August 11 and featured a wide array of Omani talents.
This year’s festival saw participation from six artists, five poets, and six composers, showcasing their musical pieces and performances, including traditional arts panels and renditions of classic Omani songs.
The event also included the recognition of jury members and participants for their contributions.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth aims to use this festival to identify and nurture Omani singing talents, highlighting their artistic potential while fostering partnerships between government agencies and the private sector. Copies of the festival will be distributed across Oman’s governorates to ensure the celebration of Omani music reaches a wider audience. - ONA
