MUSCAT: The Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science will hold a press conference today (Sunday) to announce the details of the 11th edition of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture, Arts and Literature.
This time the Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture, Arts and Literature is dedicated to Omanis only.
The award is divided into 3 main categories namely culture, arts and literature each of which is divided into subcategories. The culture category deals with various cultural works and writings in the fields of human and social knowledge in general and includes: language, history, heritage, philosophy, translation, thought studies, economy, sociology, media and mass communication.
The category of arts deals with artistic production in all its genres: music, fine art, sculpture, photography, acting, directing and theatrical performance.
The literature category is concerned with various literary styles such as poetry, novels, short stories, literary criticism, theatrical writing and essay writing. — ONA
