Salalah: The Oman Labour Forum, organized by the Ministry of Labour, commenced in the Dhofar Governorate on Sunday, as part of the efforts to offer a national platform for dialogue on job future and prospects of work in the Sultanate of Oman.

The event, to be held until August 29, was held under the patronage of Professor Mahad bin Said Ba'owain, Minister of Labour.

The Director General of the General Directorate of Labour in the Dhofar Governorate said, "Human beings are the true wealth of a society, the core of development, and its ultimate goal. We firmly believe that focusing on the labor market is a necessary developmental step for every country, as it doubles productivity and enhances the sustainability of development."

The forum aims to discuss a range of issues related to the labor market in the Sultanate, as well as the challenges and opportunities available to achieve sustainable development that strengthens the Sultanate's position in the global market.

The forum includes several work sessions and workshops intended to develop future visions and strategies to achieve a balance between supply and demand in the Omani labor market.

The forum has attracted a large number of officials, experts, and specialists from the field of labor, along with representatives from the private sector and academic institutions, to discuss and exchange ideas on developing labor policies in line with Oman Vision 2040.
