

IBRI: The Directorate-General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Dhahirah Governorate on Wednesday discussed ways to expand wheat cultivation for the upcoming agricultural season through enhancing cooperation with investors.
The meeting was chaired by Eng Salem bin Ali al Amrani, Director-General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Dhahirah Governorate, in the presence of investors in wheat cultivation in Al Dhahirah Governorate. It discussed the possibilities of augmenting wheat cultivation to ensure food security and investment returns.
During the meeting, the Directorate-General of Agriculture and Water Resources presented its plan for expanding wheat cultivation and reviewed the available investment opportunities in this field. It also discussed the executive situation of the existing wheat cultivation projects under the land usufruct agreements.
The meeting also addressed the challenges facing investors in wheat cultivation and discussed with them appropriate solutions and proposals to overcome these challenges.
Al Dhahirah Governorate produces 319 tonnes annually and the area of agricultural land cultivated with wheat amounted to 300 acres. — ONA
