Muscat: The Oman Meteorology Office said on Tuesday the weather system currently affecting the Sultanate of Oman’s atmosphere has brought temperatures down, relatively, with a cloud cover prevailing over most governorates.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Aisha Juma al Qasimi, a meteorologist at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), said weather maps indicate the continued flow of low and medium-level clouds over the northern governorates of the Sultanate of Oman from the Sea of Oman.

There is also local formation activity over the Al Hajr Mountains and the surrounding areas during the afternoon, she added.

According to readings from the meteorological monitoring stations of the CAA, the Wilayat of Nakhl recorded the highest amount of rainfall at 48.6 mm, followed by the Wilayat of Al Buraimi at 24.6 mm, then the Wilayat of Rustaq at 22.8 mm.
