SALALAH: Adventure tourists and nature lovers now have the opportunity to purchase, rent or lease a new generation of recreational vans (RV) and campers to explore the rich and diverse countryside of the Sultanate of Oman, thanks to a European company that has commenced operations locally.

RVGA Caravans, co-owned by partners from the Czech Republic, has a deep appreciation for the Middle East and its camping culture. This enthusiasm led them to introduce their innovative camping products to the region.

At the Dhofar International Expo 2024, Gabriela Ben Ahmed, Managing Director of RVGA Caravans Renting LLC, outlined her company’s ambitious plans for expansion in the Middle East. Speaking to the Observer, Ben Ahmed emphasized their search for local dealers and the establishment of networks for peer-to-peer business opportunities.

“We’re seeking to make connections and are keen on forming a network,” Ben Ahmed said. “We are also looking to engage in peer-to-peer business collaborations.”

“We discovered an excellent product in Germany, known as Gladiators, which are campers designed for pick-up trucks,” Ben Ahmed explained. “We believe this product will be very popular in the Middle East because 13% of the fleet cars here are pick-ups. Our campers come in four different sizes, ensuring compatibility with almost every pick-up model.”

RVGA Caravans has secured a contract to represent their products across the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman. These luxurious campers, a hallmark of German engineering, are made from a single piece of antibacterial material, ensuring durability and hygiene.

“Our campers are monocoque, meaning they are constructed from a single piece. This ensures they won’t break easily and are antibacterial. Our products were tested during the Covid-19 pandemic and feature patented, thermostable technology,” Ben Ahmed elaborated. “They come equipped with air conditioning and heating, making them suitable for the varied climates of the region. Additionally, our unique solar energy system charges everything while driving.” Ben Ahmed highlighted the eco-friendly nature of their campers. “We use low-decibel generators that are very eco-friendly. Our products cater to families, adventurers, and everyone in between. The starting price for our smallest model is $20,000, which includes a toilet, shower, and other amenities. Even for clients in the UAE who live in skyscrapers and cannot park their campers, we offer a special service to park and prepare their campers.”

RVGA Caravans’ entry into the Middle Eastern market signifies a new era of luxury and convenience in the camping industry, promising a blend of advanced technology and ecological sustainability.
