Muscat: The National Multi Hazard Early Warning Center has indicated that the northern governorates of the Sultanate of Oman are expected to witness an influx of clouds on Sunday, which will lead to cloudy to partly cloudy conditions starting tomorrow.

There are chances of scattered rain, including occasional thunderstorms.

The weather condition is expected to enhance the activity of local formations in the Hajar Mountains and surrounding areas, which will lead to rains accompanied by active winds on Sunday.

During the weekend, the Oman Met issued a weather forecast alert on the trough expected to influence the northern governorates starting on Tuesday.

The Sultanate of Oman will be under the effect of low pressure in the Arabian Sea, according to the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre, starting from Monday until Wednesday.

Isolated rain of varying intensity and occasional thunderstorms are expected over the governorates of South al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat, North al Batinah, Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi, North Al Sharqiyah, and Musandam.
