MUSCAT: The Wilayat of Al Hamra experienced heavy rainfall that was centred on mountain villages in Jebel Shams triggering the flow of Wadi Al Nakhr, on Monday.


Other villages located in the centre of the wilayat witnessed medium to heavy rains that continued until the evening causing rainwater to cascade down from waterfalls in the mountainous areas of Jebel Shams especially Sab Bani Khamis.

Heavy to medium rains were reported in the wilayats of Al Rustaq and Al Awabi in South Al Batinah Governorate, as well.


In the Wilayat of Rustaq, rainfall battered the villages of Wadi Al Sahtan, Wadi Bani Ghafir and Wadi Bani Hani. In the Wilayat of Al Awabi, rains were centred on the villages of Al Alia, Al Muhsina, Hadas, Al Hajar and Senaibei in Wadi Bani Kharous. — ONA
