MUSCAT: The total value of real estate trading in the Sultanate of Oman recorded an increase of 1.3 per cent, reaching by the end of May 2024 a value of RO 1.237 billion, compared to the same period in 2023, which amounted to RO 1.220 billion.
Preliminary statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information indicated that the fees collected for all legal transactions amounted to RO 27.200 million, a decrease of 5.7 per cent compared to the end of May 2023. The traded value of sales contracts amounted to RO 457.200 million for 28, 023 contracts sold with a decrease in value of 2.3 per cent and an increase in the number of contracts by 0.7 per cent.
Statistics showed that the traded value of mortgage contracts increased by 3.5 per cent, recording RO 774.500 million for 8,596 contracts, while the number of swap contracts reached 583 contracts, worth RO 5.200 million.
The number of properties issued by the end of last May amounted to about 94,194 properties, a decrease of 5.7 per cent, while the number of properties issued to citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries reached 528 properties, an increase of 2.3 per cent. — ONA
