Oman real estate trading valued at RO 394 million

MUSCAT: The total value of real estate trading in the Sultanate of Oman witnessed a decrease of 11.7 per cent, reaching by end of February 2024, RO 394.9 million, compared to RO 447.3 million during the same period in 2023.


Preliminary statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that the fees collected for all legal transactions amounted to RO 11.6 million, a decrease of 7.2 per cent from the end of February 2023, while the traded value of sales contracts amounted to RO 196.2 million for 11,543 sales contracts with a decrease in value 5.4 per cent. However there was an increase in the number of contracts by 6.6 per cent.


The traded value of mortgage contracts decreased by 17.5 per cent, recording RO 196.5 million for 2,989 contracts, while the number of swap contracts reached 299, RO 2.2 million.


The number of properties issued by end of February reached to about 39,378, an increase of 0.8 per cent, while the number of properties issued to GCC citizens reached 212 properties, an increase of one per cent. — ONA
