Earlier in January 2024, Shashwat registered for the National Astronomy Challenge, organized by STEM and SPACE, and achieved a remarkable Global Rank 2, earning him the title of NAC Champion for the fourth consecutive time. In recognition of his outstanding achievement, he was felicitated in Pune, Maharashtra. During his visit, Shashwat also had the privilege to tour the prestigious Indian Institute for Science Education and Research (IISER) in Pune, where he interacted with esteemed scientists and professors from the university.
Following his visit to IISER, Shashwat embarked on a road trip to the GMRT, located 82 km from Pune in the town of Narayangaon. He also met with radio astronomers and explored the expansive network of radio telescopes spread across 500 acres. Shashwat had the unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into the functioning of various radio telescopes, instruments crucial for astronomical observations. Shashwat expressed his gratitude, saying, "It was a rare opportunity to visit GMRT, which allowed me to acquire a wealth of knowledge and experience in radio astronomy.
