MECCA: The medical delegation of the Omani Haj Mission for this year, 1445 AH, has confirmed its full readiness to provide medical services to pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman.
Dr Ali bin Zayed Al Busaidy, head of the medical delegation, stated that upon arrival in Mecca, the team immediately began preparing the medical clinic at the mission’s headquarters in Mecca. The clinic is now ready to receive visitors around the clock, offering a full range of necessary medical services.
Dr Al Busaidy explained that the clinic has developed an advance plan to handle all emergency cases, as well as those with chronic diseases and individuals needing dialysis. Coordination has been made with relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia to transfer critical cases to hospitals if necessary. The team will also follow up on hospitalised cases daily through field visits and electronic communication with the competent authorities.
The medical clinic utilises the Shifa programme, which is integrated with Omani health institutions. This programme facilitates access to the medical records and health histories of Omani pilgrims.
He also emphasised the importance of pilgrims from Oman following preventive measures against heat stress by drinking plenty of fluids and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun. The medical clinic at the Omani Haj Mission's headquarters is fully equipped and prepared to receive patients 24/7.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made by the competent authorities to streamline the procedures for Haj pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia through the Empty Quarter crossing in Al Dhahirah Governorate.
Over 14,000 pilgrims from Omam have registered to perform the Haj this year. The procedures provided by the Department of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the governorate at the border crossing are to process the pilgrims’ permits required to perform Haj rituals, in addition to permits for vehicles transporting pilgrims, in coordination with the Omani Haj Mission.
This year witnessed the speedy clearance of pilgrims’ passage through the ports, which reflects the keenness of the concerned authorities to facilitate all procedures related to pilgrims.
Efforts are also being made on the road leading to the land port, where the Social Development Committee, represented by the Ibri Charitable Team, took the initiative by providing various road services and establishing a station in the Wilayat of Ibri to receive about 99 buses from various governorates of Oman, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police. - ONA
