MUSCAT: Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed an increase in the revenues of 3-5 star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of March 2024 by 8.3 per cent to reach RO 71.907 million compared to RO 66.395 million end of March 2023.
The statistics pointed out that this increase is attributed to a 12.1 per cent increase in the total number of hotel guests, reaching 598,128 guests by the end of March 2024, compared to 533,790 guests at the end of March 2023, while the occupancy rate increased by 2.2 per cent.
The statistics indicated an increase in the number of Omani guests by 2.3 per cent to reach 189,275, while the number of Gulf guests decreased by 2.7 per cent, recording 32,283, and the number of European guests increased by 23.9 per cent to reach 217,284.
The number of guests from the Americas was 19,521, with an increase of 13.4 per cent, while the number of guests from the African continent was 2,735, with a decrease of 7.7 per cent.
