MUSCAT: College and university students in Muscat and Salalah can travel free in public buses for two years and the move is aimed to facilitate access to educational institutions and promote mobility among the youth.

This was announced during the opening of the second session of the Oman Ports Conference “Oman on the Logistics Performance Index.”

In addition to this, an initiative providing free public transport for citizens from Muscat and Salalah for three days starting from May 2 seeks to promote the use of public transport and improve accessibility within urban areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Eng Said bin Hamoud al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, emphasized the transformative role of the logistics system in Oman’s socio-economic landscape. He underscored the system’s resilience and adaptability.
