Al Dakhiliyah Boulevard to come up in two years

NIZWA: Al Dakhiliyah Boulevard will be set up in the Wilayat of Nizwa in two years covering an area of 145,000 square metres. The project includes 10 investment sites and 50 usufruct contracts in various sectors. It is expected to attract 944,000 tourists and visitors annually, providing 340 jobs, which will also benefit 60 productive families. The Tender Board has invited the bids for the project which will spur more development and provide more recreational avenues for families.


Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, said this project will include the Nizwa Eye, engaging exhibitions, open theaters and captivating laser shows.


The square’s promenade extends over a length of 3,985 metres, lined with greenery, tracks for bicycles and electric bikes over a length of 1,650 metres, a fountain, and an open area of about 80,000 square metres. The project boasts a diverse range of amenities, including a children’s play area, pathways, vibrant cafes, a cultural square for creatives, and a marketplace supporting local families. Additionally, it features restaurants, stalls, a variety store, prayer facilities, and restrooms, catering to the needs of visitors and residents alike.”


Regarding the investment returns of the Al Dakhiliyah Boulevard project, the Governor said: “It is expected to reach RO 250,000 including direct returns estimated at around RO 135,000 from leasing the project’s investment facilities, events, exhibitions, and festivals. The project will return RO 115,000 from additional investment projects.”


The project is part of the Greater Nizwa Plan project being implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning. It is also in line with Nizwa health project being implemented by the Ministry of Health. There is also a plan to add more green cover as part of the national planting of 10 million trees.


The project will have a wastewater project implemented by Nama Water Services Company. The project is also linked with the Nizwa Gateway investment project being implemented by small and medium enterprises.


He elaborated that Al Dakhiliyah Governorate aims to engage sector companies, with a 7 per cent commitment, to bolster the project with clean and renewable energy solutions. Their involvement extends to providing investment opportunities and enhancing the sustainability and efficiency of project facilities and services. It also presents an additional investment opportunity through the Culture Street initiative, fostering a creative hub for writers, intellectuals, and entrepreneurs, enriching the project's cultural and economic impact.”
