Abu Dhabi - In response to the initiative launched by the UAE government, the Federal Traffic Council at the Ministry of Interior has announced the start of activating the decision to cancel traffic violations incurred by citizens of the Sultanate of Oman during the period between 2018 and 2023, the WAM news agency said.

The decision will benefit a large number of citizens especially those from the neighboring governorates of North al Batinah, Buraimi, and Musandam who frequently visit the UAE for business and family purposes.

There have been reports of some citizens incurring fines amounting to thousands of riyals in traffic fines spread over the years but suddenly charged from early this year.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday announced the decision to waive all traffic violations incurred by citizens of the Sultanate of Oman from 2018 to 2023 as part of the efforts to implement and support initiatives and decisions that benefit the public and common interest and strengthen close fraternal ties.
