Oman’s GDP at constant prices reaches RO 38.276 bn in 2023

MUSCAT: The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant prices for the Sultanate of Oman recorded an increase of 1.3 per cent by the end of fourth quarter (Q4) of 2023 (from January to December 2023), reaching RO 38.276 billion compared to the end of Q4 2022, where it was RO 37.781 billion, according to preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).


Oil-related activities increased by 0.4 per cent, recording RO 12.441 billion at the end of Q4 2023, compared to RO 12.397 billion at the end of Q4 2022, with a contribution of 33 per cent.


Crude oil activities reached RO 10.644 billion, while natural gas activities increased by 3.1 per cent to record RO 1.796 billion.


Non-oil activities also rose by 2.4 per cent, registering RO 27.304 billion at the end of Q4 2023, compared to RO 26.656 billion at the end of Q4 2022.


The total industrial activities amounted to RO 8.070 billion, compared to RO 8.101 billion at the end of Q4 2022, while agricultural, forestry, and fishing activities amounted to RO 830,400. The service activities recorded RO 18.404 billion.


The contribution of construction activities was 9 per cent, compared to 8 per cent for wholesale and retail trade, and 9 per cent for public administration and defence, with 41 per cent for other non-oil activities. — ONA
