MUSCAT: The Global Innovation Institute praised the Sultanate of Oman's efforts to support and adopt policies for innovation and institutional creativity to enhance and build an advanced knowledge economy to contribute to promoting comprehensive development.

This praise comes through the Institutional Innovation Guidance Manual for the government sector, which is being worked on by the unit responsible for monitoring the implementation of Oman Vision 2040, targeting more than 44 institutions, following the model of the Global Innovation Institute. Through this, Oman becomes the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to implement a unified guide for institutional innovation across the government sector.

The project aims to pave the way for cooperation between various sectors to ensure the creation of a unified vision towards innovation-driven development to achieve the targets of Oman Vision 2040, by promoting a culture of institutional innovation and addressing a number of challenges including: aligning innovation strategies, organizing innovation-related efforts, and enhancing capabilities in this aspect.

Since the launch of the project in December 2023, and in an effort to achieve its goals and engage all government institutions, the team has visited most governorates and held intensive discussion sessions to ensure alignment of the activities of government institutions in the governorates with the project's direction.
