Muscat: There are chances of heavy thunderstorms accompanied by active downward winds and hail expected to fall tonight and tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, with rain amounts ranging between 30-100 mm in the governorates of Musandam, al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, North al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, South al Batinah, Muscat, North al Sharqiyah, South al-Sharqiyah, and Northern Al Wusta, which will lead to flowing wadis. There are


chances of scattered rain in Dhofar Governorate.

Heavy rain will be accompanied by hail ranging between 30-100 mm, leading to flowing wadis.


Active downward winds, speeds ranging between 15 - 45 knots (28 - 83 km/h).


The sea wave height on most of the coasts of the Sultanate of Oman ranges between 2-3 meters.

Kawthar Bint Sulaiman Al Jabriya, a meteorologist at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), said that forecasts indicate a continuation of heavy rain throughout the northern governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.


She added, "The chances of thunderstorms will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, with the gradual decline of the effects of the depression starting tomorrow evening and Thursday morning."


For users of the Thumrait-Salalah road, horizontal visibility is reduced due to dust rising due to active winds and sand accumulation on both sides of the road, please be aware.
