Northwesterly wind continues

Muscat: Northwesterly wind activity continued over the governorates of Dhofar, Al Wusta and Al Dhahirah, where wind speeds reached 27 knots, causing dust to rise and a decrease in horizontal visibility.


Authorities have requested public to be cautious.


The activity of northwesterly winds will continue on Thursday and may cause the rise of dust and a decrease in horizontal visibility could be experienced at times in desert and open areas, said the Met Office.


Clouds continued to flow over most governorates, with scattered rain of varying intensity fell in parts of the Al Sharqiyah South Governorate especially in Jaalan Bani Bu Ali.


The weather officials said there were chances of scattered rain falling in parts of Al Sharqiyah North, Al Sharqiyah South and Dhofar governorates on Wednesday.


Moderate to rough has been the sea conditions with wave heights recording 2.5m along Musandam coast and Oman Sea coasts and slight to moderate along the Arabian Sea coasts 1.5-2m.
