Dakhiliyah Municipal Council holds meeting

NIZWA: The Municipal Council of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate held a meeting on Tuesday.


Topics related to the development of services, the municipal sector, investment, and urban planning were reviewed with a view of serving the public interest and enhancing development in the governorate.


The council touched on the project of developing the entrance to the Wilayat of Nizwa, where Engineer Sulaiman bin Hamad al Sunaidi, Director-General of the Municipality of Al Dakhiliya, confirmed that the work is ongoing execute the the first phase of the project, one of the beautification projects in the governorate and will provide spaces for recreation, exercise, and increasing afforestation area.


The Council also reviewed the letter of the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning regarding the request to change the landfill land in the Hasahas area in the Wilayat of Samayil. The Council also reviewed the statement of the under-secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for Urban Planning regarding the request to allocate part of the public councils’ lands to be used for investment purposes based on previous recommendation from the municipal council.


The Council discussed the letter of the Director-General of Housing and Urban Planning in the governorate regarding the request to extend the site of the Sharah Mosque and finding another site for the Majlis in the Al Rasis area in the Wilayat of Izki.


Also reviewed was a letter from the Director of the Department of Housing and Urban Planning in Bahla regarding allocating a plot of land for the construction of a public park in the Wadi Qurayat area in the Wilayat of Bahla.


The meeting, chaired by Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of the Al Dakhiliyah and Chairman of the Municipal Council, came out with a number of recommendations for developing the governorate in various aspects.
