MUSCAT: The Muscat Municipal Council held a meeting under the chairmanship of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, in the presence of the chairman of Muscat Municipal Council, on Sunday.
The meeting discussed the inclusion of Bushar sand dunes and Hawiyat Najm Park, also known as Bimmah Sinkhole, among the entertainment projects in the governorate.
The minutes of the last meeting for the year 2023 were approved as well as its recommendations most notably a statement on the development of the governorate, which included the strategic axes of the governorate based on the requirements of the Oman Vision 2040, the criteria for selecting governorate development projects and infrastructure projects. The Municipal Council will be given the opportunity to express its opinion on the service projects provided by the Muscat Municipality.
Regarding social affairs, the Municipal Council reviewed the recommendations of the Social Affairs Committee concerning the risk from the use and sale of chewing tobacco. The Health and Environmental Affairs Committee came up with a number of recommendations, the most important of which is hosting Oman Environmental Services Holding Company ‘Be’ah’ to review its future plans and the challenges facing the hygiene sector.
