Fourth round of OAA league concludes on Friday

The Oman Athletics Association (OAA) organised the fourth round of the OAA league on Friday at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. As many as 230 athletes including the national and expatriates players took part in different competition categories.


The OAA league featured many events including 110m hurdles, long jump, shot put (4kg), javelin throw, 2,000m steeplechase and hammer throw (5kg).


In the 100m event for the seniors, Mohammed al Saadi finished first within 10.43 seconds while Khalid Salah finished second in 10.47 seconds. The national sprinter Barakat al Harthi came in third place with a timing of 10.49 seconds.


In the 110m hurdles, Faisal al Azki won first place while Nawaf al Azki finished second.


In the triple jump final, the national team's Salim al Yarabi won the first place award as he cleared 15.30 (NWI) while Salim al Rawahi registered 15.14 (NWI).


In the hammer throw (7.26 kg), Mubeen al Kindi came first after he recorded a personal best of 62.59m. In the hammer throw (4kg) for senior women, Doha al Sanawi came first followed by Kaltham al Jabri.


In the 400m for senior men, Mohammed al Mabsali finished first in 48.14 seconds followed by Wail al Shandoudi in 48.59 seconds.


Maryam al Shibli came first in 400m senior women after she clocked 1:15.78 minutes while Kazeema al Ansari came second with a timing of 1:22.22 minutes.


The purpose of the OAA league event is to select athletes for the forthcoming competitions.
