Muscat: Muscat Municipality has coordinated with a company to manage slaughterhouses and to develop a precautionary plan for any emergency in the event of a breakdown of equipment.

All slaughterhouse workers take precautionary measures and health requirements while providing service to ensure the health of workers and customers.

The company operating the slaughterhouses is also equipped with waiting rooms in the two slaughterhouses to ensure comfort for the consumer before receiving the carcass.

For the benefit of customers, the working hours of the municipal slaughterhouses have been rescheduled and set in proportion to the peak demand before and during the holy month.

Workers in Muscat Municipality have stated that timings have been allocated before the holy month to be in the mornings for individuals and the evenings for companies and meat shops, starting from March 9 until the end of the month of Shaban 2024.

During the holy month of Ramadan, receiving consumers will be limited to the morning period only - for companies and meat shops (between 6 and 8 am) and individuals (between 8 am and 1 pm).

Muscat Municipality has advised all institutions, charities, meat companies, and stores to communicate in advance with the company operating the slaughterhouses.
