Muscat Governorate Educational Team lifted the title of the Girls Football Championship 2024, following their crucial 1-0 triumph over Al Batinah South Governorate Educational Team on Wednesday.


Al Batinah North Governorate Educational Team clinched the bronze medal after they registered a 2-0 win against Al Dhahirah Governorate Educational Team in the third and fourth play-off.


HH Sayyidah Hujaija bint Jaifar al Said was the chief guest. She delivered awards and trophies to the top winners in presence of representatives from the Oman Schools Sports Association (OSSA) and Oman Football Association (OFA) officials.


In the individual awards, Remas Rabee Khalid from Dhofar Governorate Educational Team grabbed the top-scorer prize of the league, while Aliya Musadiq from Muscat Governorate Educational Team was named as the most valuable player. Ghasaq al Yaqoobi from Al Dhahirah Governorate Educational Team claimed the best goalkeeper award.


As many as eight teams took part in the Girls Football Championship Finals 2024, all teams were distributed into two groups. The first group included Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi, Al Dakhiliyah and Muscat educational directorates, while the second group included Al Wusta, Al Batinah North, Al Batinah South and Dhofar educational directorates.


The tournament registered thrilling matches among the participated teams as every team worked very hard to reach the finals. Al Dhahirah and Muscat educational directorates secured their tickets to the semis from the first group, while Al Batinah North and South educational directorates teams booked their slots from the second group.


In the semis games, Al Batinah South team won against Al Dhahirah team in penalties 3-2 after a goalless draw while Muscat team defeated Al Batinah North team 2-0.
