Indian schools allot seats to new applicants

Muscat: A total of 3,543 applicants have been allotted seats in the seven Indian Schools in Muscat at the computer-generated draw held on March 3 at Indian Schools Muscat.


The draw was presided over by Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman, also attended by the principals of the Indian Schools in the capital area.


“The centralized admission system with online registration introduced by the Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman have facilitated the entire admission process, making it convenient for parents and schools to take care of the rush for admissions,” said Dr. Manickam.


The number of new applications received for each class is as follows: KG1 (1,402), KG2 (458), Class 1 (594), Class 2 (191), Class 3 (192), Class 4 (152), Class 5 (135), Class 6 (126), Class 7 (98), Class 8 (103) and Class 9 (92).


On average about 72% of applicants got the first choice of school to which they had opted.


Schools will further inform the parents about the date of admission and the documents to be submitted at the time of admission. The admission to different classes will be carried out in a phased manner by Schools to make it convenient for the parents.
