National Student Conference enhances academic experiences

Dr Maryam Belarab al Nabhani, Director General of Private Colleges and Universities, at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, presided over the Second National Student Conference which was aimed at providing a platform for undergraduate students to showcase their research endeavours, promoting growth, collaboration, and development across various domains at the Muscat College recently.


Organised by the College in association with the Oman IT Society, the high-end conference helped the students from across higher education institutions in Oman find ways to enhance their academic experiences.


"We organised the conference with the primary objective to provide a platform for students to share their research findings, engage in networking opportunities, and cultivate a culture of research and innovation," said Dr Khalfan al Masruri, Dean, Muscat College.


He added that, with the participation of students from various Higher Education Institutes in Oman, the conference was able to foster collaboration and exchange of knowledge among the academic community."


"We are excited to host the 2nd National Student Conference and provide students with a platform to showcase their research outputs and connect with their peers," said Dr Reshmy Krishnan, Chief Coordinator and Head of Research department, adding that the conference underscored the commitment to promoting academic excellence and nurturing a spirit of innovation among students.


A line up of distinguished speakers including Dr Ali al Alawi, Laila al Hadhrami, and Ali Hassan Moosa delivered keynote addresses covering a range of fields which was attended by dignitaries from various ministries, other higher education institutions, industrialists, and the media.


The conference also featured keynote speakers, panel discussions, and presentations by students on a wide range of topics. It proved to be a dynamic and enriching experience for all participants.


The selected papers were presented by the students on the second day of the conference in three parallel sessions.
