Driver killed in Amerat-Bausher road mishap, traffic movement restored

Muscat: Traffic movement has been restored on the Amerat-Bausher Mountain Road in both directions, according to the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

A truck driver was killed in a collision between a truck and a car on Amerat Road on Thursday morning, according to the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA).



In an online statement, the authority said,” The fire, rescue, and ambulance teams of CDAA Department in Muscat Governorate are now dealing with the incident where a truck deteriorated and collided with a vehicle”.


According to officials at CDAA, the truck driver was killed after the two vehicles involved in the mishap caught fire.


Meanwhile, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has urged motorists to use an alternative road to avoid traffic congestion.
