Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman’s Foreign Ministry expressed strong disappointment and regret over the failure of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to issue a ceasefire resolution in the Gaza Strip, due to the repeated use of the veto.

In a statement, the ministry appealed to the international community and the Security Council to facilitate all initiatives calling for an immediate ceasefire in the region.

“We call on the Council not to stand in the way of peace, urging friendly countries to enact their calling for peace positions and statements into a practical and just humanitarian reality”, the statement said.
