Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) said it is monitoring concerns over the quality of M91 fuel distributed in some governorates/

A joint meeting was recently held with the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), OQ Refineries, and fuel marketing companies.

As OQ is fully responsible for the quality of fuel distributed to all local fuel marketing companies, it follows up on complaints received from companies, as it may affect the functioning of vehicles and boats.

Following the complaints, fuels are tested in the laboratory to determine changes in the quality level.

The Ministry stresses the importance of OQ’s commitment to applying approved standard specifications for vehicle fuel and providing the Ministry with a certificate of conformity for each product.

Mechanisms to address complaints include receiving grievances through call centers of the marketing companies.

Within two business days from the date of receiving the complaint, fuel marketing companies will provide OQ with full details such as the name of the station, region, fuel type, and production lot number (shipment).

OQ tracks product quality from key distribution points (tanks), reviews the conformity certificates, and re-examines the reference sample in cooperation with the Ministry and the Consumer Protection Authority.

In case of non-compliance with specifications, a technical working group is formed to verify and take action
