Muscat: Construction work has commenced on the eagerly-awaited Ansab-al Jafnain road dualization project, which once completed is expected to enhance development in the governorates of Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah, and North al Sharqiyah.

Galfar Engineering and Contracting, the leading construction firm, has embarked on the initial procedures, including the topographic surveying works for the project, comprising three lanes in each direction from Falaj al-Sham in the Wilayat of Bausher to Al Jafnain in the Wilayat of Seeb, flyovers, and subways.

Meanwhile, the project will help resolve traffic-related issues, especially during rush hours, expedite the development of the Misfah Industrial Area, and reduce road accidents in the area.

Bausher and Ansab residents have welcomed the commencement of the vital road project, whose implementation is expected to last for 36 months, and expressed their gratitude for the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik in the implementation of the Al-Ansab-Al-Jifnain road duality project.

In an online statement, Malik Hilah al Yahmadi, Shura member, said in a statement, “We congratulate the people of Bausher and all users of the al-Ansab-al-Jifnain road on the start of the construction work of the dualisation project, which will achieve a qualitative leap in the traffic flow between the Wilayat of Bawshar and the rest of the governorates and wilayats, giving a boom in urban, commercial and industrial activities.

Mainly, the project includes upgrading the three existing roundabouts at Al Ansab Road extending between Muscat Expressway and Falaj Al Sham Area into flyovers and interchanges with traffic signals.
