MUSCAT: Takatuf Oman Company, a subsidiary of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), announced the start of registration for a scholarships programme known as (Oman Pioneers).

The programme provides for dispatching candidates for study at the best international universities. It enables the candidates to study specific specialisations that keep pace with the priorities of development and support of the national economy.

Shaikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed al Harthy, CEO of Takatuf, said that the programme funds scholarships for 150 students over five batches. Registration in the programme continues until 24 February, he added.

The programme targets Omani Grade 11 students (or equivalent). The candidates may register by filling out the electronic form available at the programme’s website (www.takatufscholars.om) or through social media accounts. Each student who meets the standards will receive an international scholarship and begin studying at an internal school for two years, then join the affiliated university to obtain a bachelor’s degree. — ONA
