Rains hammer northern parts of Oman

Muscat: The northern governorates in the Sultanate of Oman on Sunday experienced moderate to heavy rains.


In the Governorate of Muscat, rains fell in Al Seeb, Bausher, Al Amerat, Quriyyat, Muscat and Muttrah. As a precautionary measure, Al Amerat-Bausher Mountain road was closed to traffic.

In the Governorate of Al Dhakhiliyah, rains fell in the wilayats of Bidbid and Al Hamra.


In the Governorate of South Al Batinah, rains fell in the wilayats of Al Rustaq, Al Awabi, Nakhal, Wadi Al Maawil, Al Musanaa and Barka.

The rainfall in these governorates led to the overflow of some wadis.
