Muscat: Bahwan Engineering Company (BEC) who have been at the forefront of introducing market leading, high efficiency Carrier air-conditioning solutions in Oman for over 45 years, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Carrier Experience Center in Mabela, Oman on 4th February 2024.

His Highness Faisal Abdul Rawoof Abbas Al Said graced the occasion as chief guest at inaugural event, which was attended by representatives from media as well as senior management representatives from Carrier and BEC.

“We take pride in being an Omani Company that over the decades, has helped clients in a comprehensive range of market verticals such as healthcare, hospitality, banking, education, residential, commercial and government high rise buildings, airports, and other iconic projects in achieving faster returns on investment, lower operating costs, and higher operating efficiencies,” said a senior BEC Management representative present on the occasion. “This Carrier Experience Center is not just retail expansion, but a showcase of the world-leading quality, cutting-edge technology, and globally trusted reliability from Carrier that is available for Omani homes and residential buildings,” he added.

Carrier has been innovating heating and cooling solutions since 1902 when its founder, Willis Carrier, developed the first modern air conditioning system and changed the way the world lives today. Working on a philosophy that 'big innovations are not just for big buildings', Carrier offers expert solutions including VRF, ducted, ductless, packaged products and window room air conditioners that ensure high efficiency and premium comfort in homes, offices, apartments, retail and other applications.

“Carrier products with their high efficiency and sustainable design contribute directly to the objectives of Oman’s National Strategy for an Orderly Transition to Net Zero,” said Madhanagopal Chandrakumar, Chief Executive Officer of AHI Carrier. “As in other parts of the world, we have started to see effects of global warming in the region as well in the form of more tropical storms, more days with temperatures exceeding 45°C, and reports of increasing desertification. It is highly commendable that in the Government of Oman’s planned orderly transition, decarbonization takes priority and would optimize for all five of the transition objectives,” added Chandrakumar.

“Decarbonization is where we add tangible value through engineered technical solutions and high efficiency equipment, that in applications in the GCC, have reduced energy requirements by more than 40 percent, contributing greatly to decarbonization. We are also completely aligned with Carrier’s 1 gigaton goal where the objective is to help customers avoid more than 1 gigaton of GHG emissions by 2030. Our home and light commercial HVAC solutions imbibe our vision of sustainability and empower individual customers and end users to contribute towards a healthier planet,” Chandrakumar concluded.
